Who We Are
WHAT WE DO

BLM seeks to increase the participation and representation of Black (African and Caribbean) members within the Labour Party, in public life and political process by encouraging and empowering Black Labour members to speak for ourselves, promote co-operation, community cohesion and partnership working; including campaigning for a fairer, more equal and democratic society in which no one feels left behind.

Since BLM’s inception as a mere WhatsApp discussion group in 2016, it has now evolved into a bold and independent political movement, with strong root to the British Labour Party and registered in England and Wales as a private company limited by guarantee with no share capital (Registration number 11539618) with a mission to providing an effective voice for Black (African and Caribbean) members of the Labour Party and evident by the tagline, ‘Black Labour, Speaking for Ourselves’.
